Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Navarca collects when you visit navarca.ae or get in touch, and how we handle it.

Who we are

Navarca Ship Management LLC is a vessel operator, charterer and ship broker based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. We are the data controller for information collected through this site. For any question about this policy or your information, email contact@navarca.ae.

Information we collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. This site has no forms and no accounts.

• Information you give us. If you email us, including through the enquiry links on this site, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
• Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics to measure site usage, such as pages viewed, approximate region and device type. Where consent is required and not given, this is limited to anonymous, aggregated measurement with no cookies and no identifier. Our host, GitHub Pages, may also record standard server logs such as IP address and browser type, to deliver and secure the site.

The live vessel positions shown on the home page come from public AIS broadcasts. They describe ships, not visitors, and loading them does not send any of your information to a third party.

How we use it

• To read and respond to enquiries you send us.
• To keep a record of our correspondence with clients, owners and counterparties.
• To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used and improve it.

We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across the web.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. We run it through Google Consent Mode, which adjusts what is collected based on your choice:

• In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, no analytics cookies or identifiers are stored unless you accept. Before you choose, and if you decline, Google receives only anonymous, aggregated signals, with no cookies and no identifier, used to estimate overall usage. If you accept, a small number of first-party Google Analytics cookies are set.
• Elsewhere, analytics is enabled by default. You can opt out at any time using the Cookies link at the foot of each page.
• We honour the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out, so no cookies are set for browsers that send it.

To decide whether to ask for consent, we check your approximate country through a third-party lookup service, which reads your IP address and does not set a cookie. You can change your choice, or clear cookies in your browser, at any time, and the site works exactly the same.

The fonts used on this site are served from our own domain, so simply loading a page does not disclose your visit to a font provider.

Services we rely on

A few third parties help us run the site. Each handles data under its own privacy terms:

• Google Analytics measures site usage, only with consent where consent is required.
• GitHub Pages hosts the website.
• country.is provides the approximate-country lookup described above.

Legal basis (EU and UK)

If you are in the EU or UK, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR:

• Your consent, for Google Analytics cookies where consent is required. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Our legitimate interest in reading and responding to enquiries you choose to send us, in keeping the website secure and working, and in understanding overall site usage through anonymous, aggregated measurement that does not identify you or set cookies.
• Performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one, where your enquiry leads to a charter, a brokerage mandate or a management agreement.

International transfers

We are established in the United Arab Emirates, and the providers we use (Google and GitHub) are based in the United States, so your information may be processed in either country. Where we receive information from the EU, EEA or UK, these transfers rely on the safeguards in each provider's terms, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, and on your consent or the necessity of the transfer to respond to your enquiry.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we need it to respond and to support any charter, mandate or agreement that follows, and afterwards for as long as our commercial and tax record-keeping obligations require, then remove it. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email contact@navarca.ae and we will help, at no cost.

If you are in the EU or UK and you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
